Harriet Gets Carried Away
Harriet’s parents like to get her things that she likes, like costumes because they like her to be herself. I noticed she really likes costumes. And she got a new one. She does not wear any other outfits besides costumes. I think that’s pretty odd; do you think so? She left her parents at the store and she found penguins where the ice was. So she followed the penguins, and they led her to the hot air balloon, and she got lost. Harriet is very inventive in figuring out how to try to get home. I noticed that Harriet’s parents didn’t really notice that Harriet left. I think they should pay more attention to their kid. She tried different things that did not work. She was upset and then she tried something else like asking the orca and pigeons. She had an orca carry her home on its back and had birds fly her to the store. She didn’t notice any other party hats because they were all gone. My favorite part of the book was that she liked all these costumes. My other favorite part was this girl named Olivia who got carried away because she dressed up like a wolf and brought WOLVES to the birthday party. I think that girls and boys would like this book and also people who really like to wear costumes. I would give it five stars.
