Grow Grateful is a delightful tale that follows Kiko throughout her day when she finds out that things with her camping trip are not going as she had planned. With the guidance of her family, Kiko realizes she must be grateful for the opportunities given to her and she must look on the bright side to see what she can learn from each experience. On her camping trip, Kiko is able to help others by being supportive and encouraging. Not only is Kiko grateful for the experience but she grows as a person.

This is a wonderfully diverse book that includes a blended family and many racially and culturally diverse characters. This book has a very positive message for children that sometimes things don’t go as planned but with courage, one can learn from the experience and be grateful for their experience. The fun and colorful illustrations help children to imagine the perilous camping journey that Kiko perseveres to complete. This book also gives a positive message to children to build-up and support their peers, rather than making fun of them for their fears or differences.
