Anouk is jealous of the human world where people, known as “pretties,” get whatever they want, such as clothes, cars, and especially love. Anouk could never have any of that because she isn’t really human. She was enchanted from animal to human and now is a “beastie” who is forbidden to leave her Parisian prison. She is in a place with a witch who granted her even existence, Mada Vittoria. But when she finds her mistress murdered in a pool of blood, she is accused of murder. Now the underground magic society known as the Haute is in chaos. Anouk and her “beastie” friends only have three days to find out who the real killer is before they are all turned back. I really liked this book with the magic feel, and I am really excited to read it again, but I overall loved it, and I am excited for the author. I think she will do big things with this book.
