Great Escapes: Terror in the Tower of London by W. N. Brown is an awesome series about the greatest escapes of all time. This book takes place in the 1700s and is based on William Maxwell 5th earl and Lord of Nithsdale. He was captured by the English during the Jacobite uprisings in 1715 of November 13th and then taken to the dreaded (in that time) tower of London. Now as for the plot, it seemed so real that I could imagine myself in the book. I liked the characters and they seemed real to the point of I could see them standing right next to me. The language flowed so well that it held my interest until I finished the book. There are also illustrations and they are pretty good. I liked them a lot. I would recommend this story to eight-year-olds and older who are interested in history and adventure. This book is already a good series and I enjoyed it greatly. I would recommend this book because this was a great way for me to learn history in a fun way. This book is so good if I could I would give it six stars out of five if I could!
