Graveyard Shakes
Two sisters, Katia and Victoria, are going to a boarding school, and they become outcasts. The two sisters handle this in their own separate ways. Victoria, who wants to fit in desperately, begins to sign up for clubs and even changes the way she acts, while Katia remains stubborn, in her own world. The two sisters get into a big fight about the way they act, leaving Katia so angry that she runs away from school during a big blizzard. Victoria realizes how much trouble this might be for her sister and goes out to find her, and that’s when she bumps into a couple of ghosts and a human named Nikkola, who needs one more special ingredient for his sinister spell.
Graveyard Shakes truly is a great book that would appeal to anyone, with a fun, unique drawing style to accompany the creative storyline. The author also really did a great job depicting how siblings might act; unlike most stories, these characters have a 3D personality, showing that, yes, people can disagree, fight, and argue, but they can also apologize and forgive, and that is one great message.
