Goodnight Hockey (Sports Illustrated Kids Bedtime Books)

This is the perfect bedtime story for any young hockey fan. It’s rhyming and lyrical, and I loved trying to guess what the word would be. My mom and I always make rhyming books a game like that. This story is about a little boy and his family going to a local hockey game. After the game, the little boy says goodnight to everyone and everything on his way home. I have never been to a hockey game before but after reading this book, I can imagine what it would be like. My favorite part is the goalie; I love how big he looks in his pads and hockey gear. I love to watch him block the puck. It used the words “hat trick” and “slap shot” and described what those words meant. I love how the little boy says good night to everything hockey at the end of the book. It even made me sleepy seeing him get sleepy in the book. I like to close my eyes and have hockey dreams of my own too. I would tell all my friends to read this book, especially if they like the game of hockey.
