Galápagos Islands: The World’s Living Laboratory

We rated this book:

This book is so neat because I have always found the Galapagos Islands fascinating. There are so many species of animals and plants that are only found on the islands and in their waters. However, we know that scientists have a hard time really studying what is in the ocean because it is so large, so deep and with so many terrors like sharks.

However, I did read that while hammerhead sharks are terrifying to me, they visit coral to get the coral reef fish to eat parasites off of them, so that is cool. If we want to be able to continue to study this cool place we must work to keep the oceans clean and to help slow down climate change.

The illustrations in this book are really colorful, just how I imagine the Galapagos Islands would be.
