Fruit Bowl
This colorful story is about a bowl filled with fruit. Somebody went shopping and bought lots of fruits and veggies, and now they are putting them away. A tomato tries to get in the fruit bowl, but the other fruits don’t allow him. They think tomato is not a fruit. Old, wise raisin knows the answer of whether tomato is a fruit or veggie. Finally, a lot of the fruits in the vegetable drawer of the fridge come to the bowl. It is much fuller now! You can learn stuff from this book. Some things you might think are veggies are actually fruits because they come from flowers and they have seeds. It is surprising to find out that eggplant, green beans, and avocado are all fruits, as well as others. There are lots of fruit jokes in the book. One of my favorites is when the pepper says she was a bit chilly in the fridges. Also, apple says tomato is being kind of saucy. It’s a very funny book. Even on the title page, the dedication is to the author’s parents, who are both bananas. This books is easy to read on a lot of pages, and kids just learning could read some of the speech bubbles with their parents. If you like fruits, you’ll like this book!
