Friday Barnes Under Suspicion

Friday Barnes, ingenious eleven-year-old girl detective, was sitting at the table enjoying her second slice of chocolate cake. She never expected to be arrested for terrorism. She also never realized that after her release, the next week or so would be filled with excitement, mystery, and a student that is seen in two places at once. But she better get busy, because she’s got numerous mysteries on her hands, like a missing sapphire bracelet, a student ending up at the dump, and the mysterious holes appearing all over the school grounds.

This is the sequel to Friday Barnes, Girl Detective, which I have also reviewed. This installment is certainly as intriguing as the first book. I like this book because it has multiple mysteries at one time and when there aren’t mysteries, there are certainly things to keep you entertained. One of my favorite characters is the English teacher, who is not very professional. I like how she’s trying to make everyone else at school think that she’s doing a great job, but they are often just goofing off. With eccentric characters, wonderful quiches that should be terrible (thanks to a prank), and home-made rockets going more than 6,000 feet, this book will keep you reading it, over and over and over again.
