Fresh Princess

Fresh Princess is the story of a brave girl named Destiny who likes all things pretty and sparkly. Destiny is special; she is a fresh princess. She does not give up when things are hard, like when she first learned to jump double dutch with her big sister and she fell down. Rather than cry and quit, Destiny got back up and kept trying until she got it!

Destiny is almost always happy, until she and her family have to move to a new home far away from her friends. Her dad, who always finds ways to make her feel better, has to work extra hard to cheer her up, and it doesn’t really work. She likes her new room, but still misses her old home and friends. Her dad invites her on an adventure to see her new kingdom, and they take a ride on El Train where he points out all the wonderful messages written up high throughout the city. Destiny begins to feel a little better about her new kingdom, and when they go home, her sister encourages her to go play double dutch with the children. Destiny does, and she quickly makes new friends. She’s feeling pretty fresh again!

Fresh Princess is a great story for children 8 years old and younger as it shows ways to deal with moving from one home to another. This story reminds us that even though things are not always easy, it is important to focus on the good things and make the best out of situations because we need to find ways to make ourselves happy no matter the circumstances.
