Freedom Bird: A Tale of Hope and Courage

Freedom Bird is an interesting book but it’s also a little sad. Two children and their parents are slaves and made to work on a plantation. This book is mainly for older kids, like nine and older because it’s sad and younger kids would probably cry when they read it. I think the author wrote this book to help people have more hope and courage for what their life might hold for them. The pictures are very interesting. They show the plantation and the people doing lots of different things. A sad book with a bittersweet ending.
