For the Right to Learn: Malala Yousafzai’s Story is a true story about a young girl from Pakistan. When Malala was little, the Taliban came to her country and said that girls should not be allowed to go to school. Malala was very lucky because her father was a teacher and wanted her to learn. Malala began writing a blog and doing interviews, under a secret name, that told the world what it was like not to be able to go to school. The Taliban found out that it was really Malala who was speaking out and one day a man came onto her school bus and shot Malala. Malala was flown to a hospital in England where she got many surgeries and now she talks to the world.

I was so excited to review this book because my mom had told me about Malala. For the Right to Learn: Malala Yousafzai’s Story does a good job telling the history of Malala and what happened in her childhood before she was shot. I think that all kids should learn about Malala Yousafzai and how brave she is.
