Follow Finn: A Search-and-Find Maze Book

We rated this book:

The crazy artwork in Follow Finn looks like somebody cut a lot of fairy tales into tiny pieces, made collages, and doodled all over. The drawings are full of Hans Christian Andersen, Alice in Wonderland, old Walt Disney movies – even Escher’s crazy staircases – and the artist’s imagination. I love to follow Finn and his dog, Sep, through the two-color mazes after the bearded Big Goblin. Each page has a little bit of the story about Finn going everywhere after Big Goblin because something is suspicious and when he comes home, it’s his birthday. The Big Goblin invited everyone to the party and decorated Finn’s house while he was gone. My favorite drawing is inside the blue castle, where “most of the castle creatures are asleep and all the doors are locked.” You have to find all the keys in the drawing and match them to the right keyholes. In every drawing, you can also search for two soldiers, the platypus pair, and a present. Only on the last page do you find out all the presents are for Finn’s birthday. You don’t have to be able to read to enjoy this crazy book!
