Flora and the Peacocks
This book has no words, but a lot of flaps. There’s a girl named Flora and two peacocks – each has a flap: Flora for her little fan, the peacocks for their beautiful tails. At first Flora and the peacocks cover their face, then Flora tries to invite them to play by dancing for them. They seem suspicious of her, but then one decides to give it a try. They look at each other and then they start making the same dancing moves with the fan and the tail. The other peacock gets more and more jealous and the two go to invite him. Flora starts dancing around him and now the first peacock gets jealous. The two peacocks start getting mad at each other and, in the fight, Flora’s fan gets ripped in two. Flora is very upset and walks away. The peacocks realize it and decide to bring the two parts back to her, to dance all three together. Now they are all friends.
I liked this book so-so. The flaps were fun to uncover, but the story did not engage me too much. I like more action and more words in my stories.
