Five Little Monkeys 5-Minute Stories

These 5-Minute Stories put eight Five Little Monkeys stories together in one hardback book. Little kids probably know most of these stories already, about monkeys jumping on the bed, or sitting in a tree teasing Mr. Crocodile, baking a birthday cake for Mama, or washing the car and selling it to the crocodiles. All of these stories are fun to read aloud because they have rhythm, repetition, and rhyme. The illustrations are all really funny. I love the expressions on the monkeys’ faces. The little monkeys are always making trouble, and Mama tries to get the monkey children to do the right thing.

The bright colors make all the paintings very cheerful. My favorite story is the last one: “Five Little Monkeys Reading in Bed.” I like it because the monkey children are mischievous like me. Their mama is funny because she tells them not to jump on the bed or not to read after bedtime, but she does it, too! Any little kid who likes to be read to or is learning to read will really enjoy having all these quick-to-read stories in one great book.
