Finding Audrey

Finding Audrey was such a realistic and wonderful view on a girl who suffers from ‘social anxiety’ and how she deals with it. It’s filled with informative information and Kinsella’s signature wit. When I first heard that she was writing a YA novel, my heart leapt into the air. I’m a huge fan of all her works, most notably ‘The Shopaholic Series’. So there was no question about it, I was getting this book. Audrey has been through something very tramatic that caused her to stop going to school and end up in a hospital. She wears dark sun glasses and only interacts with family and her therapist. That is until her brother Frank’s friend Linus starts coming over and forms a friendship of sorts with Audrey. But will Audrey ever get better? She sure doesn’t feel that way. To make matters worse, her therapist is pushing her to get out more. Such as making a documentary and taking a simple trip to Starbucks.

New and old fans of Kinsella’s will surely fall in love with this beautiful story. For me, I’ll continue to buy and read everything this wonderful author puts out.
