Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay
In this sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Newt Scamander is still a caretaker of magical creatures. When the dark wizard Grindelwald escapes captivity, the Ministry of Magic tries to get Newt to join them, but he refuses. Dumbledore tells Newt he must find a man named Credence, so they can find out who he really is. Dumbledore cannot fight Grindelwald because of an ancient blood pact, so Newt must stop the dark wizard himself.
Grindelwald knows Credence’s true identity and needs him on their side so that Dumbledore can be defeated, and Dumbledore is the only one standing in Grindelwald’s way to have pure-blood wizards rule over all non-magical beings. Can Newt, and his friends find Credence in time to stop him from becoming Grindelwald’s tool in his quest for dominance?
The story is written as a screenplay, and was a bit difficult for me to understand at first; however, once I figured out how to read it, I found it incredibly engaging and well-written. There are several surprising plot twists that I didn’t see coming, and I highly recommend this book to older readers!
