F is for Feathers: A Bird Alphabet (Science Alphabet)
F is for Feathers: A Bird Alphabet is an ABC book all about birds. Each letter is for something different about birds. The beginning of the book has a picture of a bird with its parts labeled and a glossary to explain words about birds. Each page has a short poem about what the letters stand for and then a little longer (four paragraphs) bit about what the letter means.
Birds are part of a scientific class called Aves, so A is for Aves. All birds have beaks, but they aren’t all the same; B stands for beaks. Birds need help to keep their nests and the trees that their nests are in, so T is for threats.
The words for each letter were both easy and hard to understand. If you like birds then you’ll learn a lot from this book, but if you don’t, then you might find it kind of boring. The pictures in the book are real-looking, colorful, and fill a lot of the pages.
