I am pretty new to doing Escape Rooms, but since I started, I think they are really fun and want to continue doing more and more! I enjoy helping my team by finding useful items to solve the puzzles and get our way out of the locked room and away from the “danger” that could happen if we don’t get out in time. In Escape Room by Christopher Edge, there are many similarities between the fictional Escape Room and real-life ones. There are many puzzles to solve, with lots of danger lurking if they aren’t solved in time. Ami and a group of newfound friends are put together to find their way out of the ultimate escape room, known as The Escape; they must rely on each other’s previous knowledge and skills because there’s a chance that not everything they are experiencing is fictional. Each room the team visited brought new thrills and anxiety about how they were going to find the escape that seemed nearly impossible. This is a fun read for middle schoolers, with some “intense” moments that might be a bit much for younger readers.
