Description

Escape Room: Game Zero is the sequel to the exciting book about a favorite pastime of mine, Escape Room. In Game Zero, a new character, Eden, gets contacted by the previous character, Ami, about participating in The Escape, but it’s not the same as before; now it’s an online game, but still with levels and challenges to beat to get the grand prize at the end, along with your escape. Much like Ami, strangely, Eden does too, and like Ami, she quickly realizes that the “online game” could be more real-life than she thought.

I had just as much fun with Game Zero and the first book, if not more, because the “levels” and challenges are set in different, more modern settings, and the clues/puzzles are different, with a greater chance of fatality for the characters. No spoilers, but the meaning at the end is similar, which could be the author’s way of stressing its importance to the readers. I wonder if there will be a book three, because the stories keep getting more exciting and realistic. This story will be enjoyed by upper-elementary-aged readers and beyond because of the excitement and suspense that are better suited to these ages.
