Emily and the Spellstone
I think that Emily and the Spellstone is a great book. It is about a girl named Emily. The only thing she asked for for her birthday was a phone because she wants one so bad! However, she can’t have one because of her older sister. She is EXTREMELY attached to her phone and pretty much ABUSES that privilege. Therefore, her parents think since her older sister acts like that, that Emily is too young. One day, Emily finds a strangely shaped rock and decides to keep it. She later finds out that this rock is actually a “spellstone.” There is a demon in the spellstone that must do whatever the owner of the spellstone says. Emily now has to figure out what this spellstone is…and the consequences! Emily and the Spellstone was a very magical book, which adds a lot more appeal. It also adds some unpredictability, since you never know where magic goes. I also really love the whole concept of a “spellstone.” It just seemed very intriguing. Overall, I loved the book!
