Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! Harold & Hog Pretend For Real!
Harold & Hog Pretend For Real! is about Harold and Hog pretending to be Elephant and Piggie. Elephant and Piggie read a book. Inside the book, Harold and Hog see them. They want to pretend to be them. Harold wants to be Gerald, and Hog wants to be Piggie. But they are actually opposites because Harold acts like Piggie, and Hog acts like Gerald. Hog thinks it’s hard to be Piggie. Because they can’t act like the characters that they want to be, they think they cannot be best friends, so they switch characters and meet the pigeon. Then Gerald and Piggie want to be Harold and Hog.
I like the book because I thought it was funny when they switched places. I like how they booped a pig nose onto Hog and booped glasses onto Harold. Harold and Hog look so silly with Piggie’s nose and Gerald’s glasses. Dan Santat’s drawings are very funny and very different from Mo Willems’ Elephant and Piggie. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read funny and silly stories and Elephant and Piggie books.
