Duddle Puck: The Puddle Duck
This book is about a cute and funny duck that makes lots of animal sounds like honking and oinking – but guess what? He doesn’t quack! His name is “Duddle Puck” which is actually “Puddle Duck” with the first letters switched around. I like that joke because I enjoy codes, words, and spelling.
This book is written by Karma Wilson, who wrote another book my brother and I like which is called Bear Snores On. “He never, ever quacked, but he often liked to cluck. Duddle Puck, what a silly puddle duck.” The illustrations in this book are very colorful and fun and show some animal noises using extra big words. I liked this book because it was so funny with the mixed up name “Duddle Puck” and also because of the funny mixed up animal sounds that the character makes. This book has a good lesson if you think about it. Boys and girls who like animals and stories about farms (especially my little brother David!) and funny things are really going to like reading this book.
