Drift
Drift is a daring adventure of a young boy and his journey across the ocean and the shores of Hell. Tenjat is very, very poor and so is the island he lives on, a massive turtle called Island Ita. He, his mother, and his sister decide to take a boat across the dangerous waters to try to find a better island where they will be safer. The water is filled with hideous monsters called Nagas, dead souls, and Imps. When they reach another island, it is only Eflet and Tenja. They manage to survive many years with the help of a friend, and one day Tenjat decides to take the Handler’s test. He passes the first test and several others with his trainer, Avi. One day he hears there is an upcoming Naga battle, and Tenjat gets very worried. Will he have enough experience to survive and fight off the Nagas and other Handlers?
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was truly a dangerous and scary journey. I felt like I was there in the book the whole time. Anyone who needs an adventure should read this book. I would give this story four-and-a-half stars, even though it could be a little confusing at times.
