Dreaming of Arizona by Grant Collier and Stephanie Lowman is an educational book about Harlow the Hawk, who traveled in her dream. In her dream, she came across different animals, a Native American tribe called the Navajo, and a man named John Wesley Powell. John Wesley Powell lost his arm but was still an explorer and led the first voyage through the Grand Canyon. It is a fun way to learn about Arizona.

My favorite part of the book was to learn about all the different animals, especially the Arizonasaurus dinosaur, because I really like dinosaurs. I also really liked that they had a page of facts called “Did You Know?” Did you know that over seven million people are living in Arizona? I learned that from this book. I also learned about the Navajo tribe and how they lived. It was really interesting. My favorite thing about this book was how it was written. It sounds like a poem. The drawings are also pretty good!

I read this book many times and even read it to my mom. I would recommend this book to kids between five and nine years old.
