Dragons: Defenders of Berk Volume 1

We rated this book:

A woman named Skuld the Sorceress makes a death threat to all of the people in Berk. Of course the people of Berk do not like that, so they make the dragons Nightwing and Toothless embark on a quest to find the gold dust that will save Berk. In this book there are two other stories, “Cruel to be Kind” and “Thaw Fleet.” “Cruel to be Kind” is about Nightwing and Toothless, who find a village that has been cursed and become quiet. They must find a cure for this curse before time runs out! “Thaw Fleet” is about Nightwing and Toothless losing a race and trying to get rid of the nicknames that they earned.

I found Dragons: Defenders of Berk hard to follow because of the way the frames were drawn. I also did not like the dragons and people that much. I think that the other two stories were not as exciting. The main story did not end in a way that made sense. The two extra stories are stand-alone and were better than the main story. This book would be good for readers ages seven to ten who like the the How to Train Your Dragon movies or books.
