Dragonfly Song
Dragonfly Song was definitely a good book. It is about a girl named Aissa. She is the firstborn child of the Lady, but no one knows it. People think the firstborn child died at birth, but what actually happened was very different. She was born with an extra thumb on each wrist, each of which were cut off right after her birth, leaving her with two half-moon scars. Now, she is no-name. The “cursed,” lowly, mute servant girl who is hated by the entire village. Yup. That’s Aissa’s life now. She was only friends with the Lady’s cat and her kittens. However, she doesn’t remain like that forever, as it wouldn’t be as good a story if the ending was sad. I really like this story, as it was very original and creative. I like the creative story line, as it was intriguing. I also like that the book was partially written in poetry and partially written in prose. Books are usually one or the other, so I like how the author wove them together. I love how this story was very detailed, as I could picture almost everything. Overall, Dragonfly Song was an amazing book.
