Dory and the Real True Friend (Dory Fantasmagory)
In this book, the rascal Dory is going back to school to find a new friend. When she does find one, she finds her friend, Rosabelle, is very imaginative and likes to pretend she’s a princess, but Mrs. Gobble Gracker, the witch, has captured Dory’s fairy godmother, Mr. Nuggie, and says she will only give him back if they give her a princess. So Dory has to defeat Mrs. Gobble Gracker so that Rosabelle doesn’t get captured.
There is this really funny part because Luke, Dory’s older brother, doesn’t believe that Rosabelle is a real person. Dory likes to make up monsters, so Luke thinks Rosabelle is a monster that’s fluffy and wears a crown and has two teeth.
I like how Dory imagines things and is very funny. The illustrations are fun and cool because they look like they were made with black crayon, and they help you see what Dory’s family thinks. I liked the first Dory book better, but this one was really funny too and I want to read more about Dory’s adventures when the next book comes out.
