Don’t Cross the Line!
This book is about a soldier who was told by his general to keep people off one page. Then one page fills up with people and they all want to get to the other page. But then one child loses his ball on the other page. So the guard has to go and let the child go get his ball on the other page. But once he does that, all the other people ask and ask and ask if they can go over. The guard says yes, but then when the general comes over, the general is mad! He brings his army to arrest the guard, but all the people say no, and that they wanted the guard because the guard let them across the page. So they push the general off his horse and everyone goes across the page. I don’t like the story or the pictures. But it has a good message – it’s not fair that the general gets the whole page to himself and nobody else can have it with him even though it really belongs to everybody. So if everyone stands up to him then he can’t have it all to himself.
