Description
Meet Ming. He always has the same bowl haircut and cheap clothes. His parents tell him not to cause trouble, but this year, Ming wants things to be different. Ming dreams of being a basketball player and owning the expensive pair of shoes that he wants. Can Ming make the changes he longs for without causing trouble?
My favorite character is Ming because, despite what his father kept telling him not to cause trouble, he didn’t listen and went for what he wanted. While stealing is bad and Ming shouldn’t have done that, I did appreciate that he pursued what he wanted. My favorite part was when Ming and his mom made egg rolls together, because I think egg rolls are delicious. I also liked it when Ming stood up for his Mom and yelled at the mean guy. However, one part that I didn’t like was how Ming’s friends laughed at him when his parents took most of his Halloween candy. I recommend this book to people who have big dreams and just need a little change.
