Dog Diaries: A Middle School Story
This is a story about Junior, who is a dog who belongs to Rafe. Junior is not a well-behaved dog. He hates raccoons and after chasing one through the park and destroying the park he is told he must go to obedience school. If Junior doesn’t pass the obedience school test he will be sent to the pound. Junior thinks the whole point of obedience class is to learn to do cool tricks but after he flunks the test he realizes that he is supposed to listen to his owner Rafe. Junior is given one last chance. He must win the pet show but the obedience teacher also has a dog who is in the pet show and they are in it to win it. Will Junior and Rafe be able to overcome the challenge and beat the mean obedience teacher and her nasty dog?
I love how this book is told from the viewpoint of a dog and how if you are familiar with the Middle School: Worst Years of my Life series you will recognize many of the same characters. The author kept me laughing by inputting funny dog puns and jokes, I found myself laughing out loud many times throughout the book.
