Dinosaurs from Head to Tail is about eight different dinosaurs that had unique body parts. The authors explain how the dinosaurs used their strange body parts. For example, the Parasaurolophus had a long, curved, crested head to communicate with other Parasaurolophus dinosaurs. The Stegosaurus had two rows of sharp-edged plates running down its back. This acted as its heating and cooling system, and to scare off predators. In the back of the book, there is a sneak peek at some other awesome dinosaurs that had odd features that help them to survive.

This book is organized so the first two pages of each dinosaur section show only an extreme close-up of the unusual part of the dinosaur, so you have to guess what kind of dinosaur had that body part. The next two pages show the answer to the question and include facts about the dinosaur featured. The colorful and detailed illustrations go across two pages and combine paper collage and real photos. If you are aged five to ten years old, a young dinosaur lover, or a paleontologist-wanna-be, this is a great book for you!
