Greg Heffley thinks he’s going to spend the entire summer lounging around the house playing video game and having water balloon wars with Rowley, but Greg’s mom has a very different idea…they’re taking a road trip. As the Heffley family makes their way across the country, they find themselves in all sorts of hilarious situations. They visit a waterpark, go to a fair, and experience lots of family fun, but trouble seems to follow them the entire way. Unfortunately the trip doesn’t end up going as smoothly as Mrs. Heffley had anticipated, how could it when Greg and his two brothers are stuck in a car together for hours on end?

The Long Haul is the latest hilarious edition to the Wimpy Kid series. While each book can be read alone, it is best to read them in order to really get a sense of the relationship Greg has with his family. This book is laugh-out-loud-funny, and I would highly suggest it for kids that love this series. If you haven’t met Greg and his family, you should start right away. You may find the Heffley family is not that different from your own!
