Destined for Doon (A Doon Novel)
Destined for Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon is the sequel to Doon, their first novel. Destined for Doon picks up a couple months after Doon ends. MacKenna has finally understood her destiny, but unfortunately is too late. She loses hope about ever seeing Duncan again until he shows up at one of her shows in Chicago, telling her that her best friend, Veronica, needs her help in Doon. From that point on, MacKenna is pulled right back into the world she was introduced to in Doon, only this time she is trying to both save the kingdom of Doon and reconcile with Duncan.
Destined for Doon threw me many curve balls. The first book, Doon, had a dissatisfying ending and left me wanting more. I hoped that after this book, all my questions would be answered. Destined for Doon did no such thing. Instead, it gave me a new, brilliantly crafted plot and the witty, charming point of views of Veronica and MacKenna that I loved in Doon. The novel is just as clever and fun as the first one, and it left me happy for at least a little while. It ended with another cliffhanger (the curveball), just as the first novel did, and it makes me want more answers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the third book when it comes out.
