Deja Moo
This is a “cozy” mystery that has some quirky twists and turns. Maddie Kosloski’s mother is on a mission to guard the thirty-foot Christmas Cow from being set on fire. While Maddie could care less about the Cow, she comes to her mother’s aid when they find that the one of the Cow’s guards has been shot with an arrow. This begins their mission to discover who is responsible. The plot of the story is a little unbelievable, and for a murder mystery, there is very little action. The story moves slowly and doesn’t focus enough on the mystery. There is very little that is “paranormal” about this story. There are lots of characters, and it is hard to get connected to any of them. The main character is confident and smart. It is written well, but there are times when the details just drag on. I had a hard time staying connected to the story. I would recommend this book to older women who like reading about romance and mysteries that don’t have a lot of action. I don’t recommend this book for anyone under the age of 16, and probably boys would not find it very interesting either.
