Dara Palmer’s Major Drama
Dara Palmer, a girl from Cambodia, lives in England with her adoptive parents, their son Felix and a girl named Georgia who was also adopted. One day at school, Dara discovered that the students were putting on The Sound of Music at the end of the school year. She loved acting, and she had her heart set on playing Maria. However, Ella Moss-Daniels got the part instead, and Dara was very sad. Her teacher, Miss Snelling and her parents were no help. Miss Snelling, who gave out the parts, wanted Dara to go to DRAMA GROUP. Dara thought she was already a star, so this hurt her feelings. Her parents called the school, but that ended up being pointless. Miss Snelling wanted her to be the stage manager. Not on Dara’s watch! She decided to go to drama group after all. However, Dara tells her parents, and they say Dara has to work harder on her homework and read a book every week to go to drama group. What will happen?
This book is perfect for kids ages 9-11 who enjoy drama and acting. I enjoyed all the suspense and humor. Nothing could make it better!
