Dancing Solo (Jake Maddox)
This book is about Sarah dancing solo. It was time for her to dance solo. During the story, Sarah had some problems like she had trouble with practicing because of her falling over. When I was reading this book, I especially liked this part: “For a long moment, Sarah sat there silently as the music continued to play. Then she carefully started to untangle her legs and get to her feet.” I noticed that there are a lot of words in the book Dancing Solo. Most of the pictures show girls who are dancing. I think the illustrations are pretty, beautiful, and interesting. Sarah does an audition because she wants to dance the part of the Spring Fairy. “Sarah felt her heart pound as she positioned herself for the pirouette.” Read this book to find out what happens to Sarah with her dancing! My favorite character is Sarah because she had trouble but she still liked to dance. I like to dance and my favorite kind is ballet – just like Sarah! Girls who enjoy dancing ballet will like this book.
