Da Vinci’s Cat by Catherine Gilbert Murdock is the story of a boy named Federico Gonzaga and Bee. And the cat, Juno, of course! (Meow!) Federico is staying in the house of the Pope in Rome. He wants a friend and makes one, in the form of a cat called Juno and a man called Herbert. But when both disappear, and a girl called Bee arrives, Federico will face a test of art, chocolate, and time itself.

This book was super mind-bendy! It all revolves around this closet built by Leonardo Da Vinci himself! Things get bad, really bad, but friendship prevails in the end. We really enjoyed this book. It totally sucks you in! And trying to figure out the puzzle, and how the time travel works, that’s really crazy! We learned a lot about the artists Michelangelo and Rafael, and about life in the Renaissance. But the best part of the story is Federico and Bee and their friendship. Besides, what’s not to love in a story about a time-traveling cat?! (Meow!)
