Crash Course #1
Elara has to go to school for Terraforming, and after that she has to deal with a bunch of unfriendly classmates and teachers as she finds out about her school. That takes up about half the book. Then she finds out someone is trying to kill her and her friends — everyone, actually — so she has to go save the world from the legendary race of creatures called the Frills, who want to destroy the universe and transform it into a place where only they can survive.
This is a good book for someone else, but not for me. The characters are whiny, especially the main character, who I didn’t like. The plot was very predictable and basic. And there is a lot of stuff that could and should have been corrected. The characters should have solved their problems by the end, but at the very end you hear the bad guy think, “One plan foiled, one plan destroyed… but there are thousands more ready to be launched.” So obviously there will be more books in this series, but I won’t be reading them.
