Company’s Coming
Shirley and Moe invited Shirley’s cousin to dinner. Moe is busy doing yard work when suddenly a flying saucer flies down into their yard. The aliens ask to use the bathroom, and Shirley tells them it’s inside. Moe is upset that Shirley let the aliens in their house. The aliens explain that they have been travelling for a very long time, so Shirley invites them to dinner. Moe is very upset that Shirley invited the aliens to dinner. What will happen at a dinner with aliens? Will the aliens blow up the house, or will they make great dinner guests?
I really liked reading Company’s Coming. There were parts that made me laugh, like when the spaceship landed and Shirley thought it was Moe’s new barbeque. I like how nice and welcoming Shirley is of the aliens. She didn’t automatically assume they were bad because they were different. I loved how the aliens were drawn. I thought they would be drawn like your typical little green alien, but they looked almost like bugs with helmets. I would recommend this book to any younger kids, especially kids who like aliens.
