Cold Snap: A Novel (A Viking Cat Mystery)
Bijou is a cat living in the Colorado Mountains, but she’s no ordinary pet. She’s secretly a Viking. Armed with her imaginary weapons, Bijou is ready to defend the village of Gray Birch. Here, she and her hapless Pomeranian friend, Skunk, help her human, Spencer, to run a pet hotel. One day, the town’s old firehouse gets sold to a Californian baker named Eddy. Spencer thinks Eddy is charming, but Bijou has different opinions of Eddy’s pets: a traumatized puppy named Fennec and a pig named Hamlet. Things get even worse when threats are made against Eddy, and on the opening night of the bakery, Fennec is kidnapped and someone is murdered. Bijou is determined to find the dog and, along with Skunk and Hamlet, she sets out to do so. But will Bijou be able to set things right and bring peace to the town?
This was an adorable book! Bijou and her clan were so much fun to read about, and her humor added something extra to the story. The mystery was cool, and I particularly loved Bijou and her dynamics with the other animals. I will happily read more Viking Cat books in the future!
