There is this bird that is a lamp. It is turned off at night when the boy goes to sleep, but it hears a lot of noises in the house and goes and tries to stop the noises. The first noise is a dripping. The bird finds it in the bathroom and turns off the faucet. Then it hears someone sneezing. It is the broom, so the bird sweeps up the dust and brings the broom a tissue. It also stops the rocking chair from rocking and closes the window so the curtains don’t rustle. By the time the bird is done getting rid of all the noises, the boy wakes up and then all these other noises happen in the house.
The fun part about this book is that all the things that make noises are alive (except for the bathtub), even though they are just things that you’d find around the house, like the broom or the lamp. The pictures are really fun because they show those things with faces but they still look like you would see them in the house. There are not very many words; all the words are sounds. It’s an interesting book to read.
