This Clark the Shark story is about when Clark likes Anna Angelfish, but he doesn’t know how to tell her that. He is frustrated because he can’t think of a way to impress. Then Clark finally comes up with big sharky ideas. But no matter what Clark does, he messes everything up. Then one day while Clark plays whirly-doodle he finds something in the sand—a perfect pink shell. He gives it to Anna for her birthday. That day Anna swims home with Clark the Shark instead of taking the school bus.

I like this story because it has some pretty silly pictures, like when Clark slams into a reef and he gets covered in seaweed. My favorite part is when Clark and Anna become friends and Anna swims home with Clark. The words are funny, too. There are a lot of silly sounding words, like “yowch” when Clark hits the reef, and “sploof” when he gets covered with seaweed. I recommend this book because it’s fun to read. If you love Clark the Shark books, you’ll love Clark the Shark Takes Heart.
