Chasing Helicity Into the Wind
Chasing Helicity into the Wind is Ginger Zee’s second book in the Chasing Helicity series. When I received this book to review, I read the first few pages and then realized that I needed to read the first Chasing Helicity book before continuing with this one. I am so happy that I read both Chasing Helicity books because I have found a new series that I love.
Chasing Helicity into the Wind is about a girl named Helicity Dunlap, who wants to be a meteorologist. She travels to Texas to visit her friend Mia and to work at Mia’s aunt’s beach bed and breakfast. While in Texas, her brother, Andy, and her meteorologist friend, Sam, surprise her by visiting from Michigan. When a hurricane is heading toward the beach, everyone needs to evacuate, but Helicity and Sam cannot find Andy.
Chasing Helicity into the Wind was such an exciting book that I couldn’t put it down. The only bad thing I can say is that it ends in a cliffhanger, and there isn’t a third book in the series…yet. After reading Chasing Helicity, I have become more interested in meteorology and think that it is cool that the author, Ginger Zee, is a meteorologist. I would recommend this book to tweens who like reading books that leave you on the edge of your seat and are also interested in the weather.
