Charlie and Frog The Boney Hand
Charlie and Frog and The Boney Hand is a fun mystery about Charlie and Frog who are confronted with a new case to solve. During the Castle School for the Deaf’s fall fest, the legendary boney hand goes missing! The Boney Hand is from a spooky story and its very important to the town’s culture and history. Charlie, a hearing person, is new at the school and he, unfortunately, is suspected of stealing the hand. Frog, who is Deaf, is Charlie’s best friend, and she’s also suspected of stealing the hand. Charlie and Frog must discover the truth soon, before anyone, including Charlie, gets expelled! They go through many different suspects and false leads before they unveil the surprising reality.
I really enjoyed this book, although I don’t often read mysteries. I was excited to read this one because I read the first book, which I recommended as well. The Boney Hand mystery also had pictures and written descriptions on signing along, and the hardcover edition had the entire fingerspelling alphabet inside the cover. The signs made this even more fun to read and I now have a better knowledge of ASL (American Sign Language). This was an exciting book and I adored it, I also liked how some of the chapters experienced a change in perspective like Charlie’s parents. I would recommend this book to ages ten and up.
