Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls

Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls by Kaela Rivera tells the incredible and perilous journey of Cece Rios as she risks her life and everything she has in order to save her sister. Along the way we are put in her perspective and can feel her roller coaster of emotions. In the book, we get to know the characters extremely well. This made it easier to understand and sympathize with the characters. Also, a thing that the author did to differentiate the characters wasn’t just appearance but also how they spoke and thought this became very apparent in the dialogue between characters. One thing I think the author did extremely well was, world-building. They took existing myths and put a twist on them and made it fun to learn about; even if you already knew the myths. I would recommend this book to some who likes mythology and intricate world-building, or just wants to read an interesting adventure-packed book.
