Butterfly Park
In the book, Butterfly Park, a little girl moves from her home in the country to the city. She is going to miss the gardens and butterflies but next to her new house is Butterfly Park. When the little girl goes to the park, she does not see any butterflies. She spots one in a neighbor’s yard and asks the neighbor boy to help her catch it. They take the butterfly to the park and it flies away. They get more kids to help them catch butterflies and take them to the park but they also fly away. They follow one butterfly, which leads them to flowers in someone’s yard. The little girl knows she needs to plant flowers. All her neighbors help her plant flowers in the garden and soon she feels at home.
I liked Butterfly Park. It was easy to read and the illustrations were beautiful. They were really neat, like no other book I’ve seen. The pictures look like they are photos of paper art and watercolors. It was great that they made a neighborhood garden to bring the butterflies.
