Bruno – Short Stories for Long Nights
I was kind of worried at first to read Bruno because we don’t talk about Bruno! But I am glad that I did read it because I enjoyed the whole story, including the little stories throughout the middle of the book. Bruno is a little bear who is told by his mom that it is about time to hibernate and that she will read him stories to get him sleepy.
Bruno hears stories about different animals with different names. The stories are all short and they must work for him because the next thing he knows, he’s waking up in the spring and ready to tell his animal friends the stories he was read back in the winter.
I don’t think I’ve read a story before that begins one way, then has other stories in the middle, and ends with the beginning story, but I liked it! Bruno seems like a good bear and his mom seems very nice too. I liked looking at the pictures throughout the story because they are bright and happy. The story is easy to understand and the words aren’t too big for me. I really hope there’s a second book so I can hear more hibernating stories!
