Bright We Burn
One of the best things about Kiersten White is that she brought us a story with complex and mysterious characters who leave us wanting more. So much more. The third book in The Conqueror’s Saga is filled with horror, some angst, and beyond beautiful storytelling. Lada, Radu, and Mehmed are positively the most well-thought out characters and are written in such a way that you can’t help but root for them. Lada is ruthless, the ultimate antiheroine. It’s not often we get to read about one of those in YA, and I absolutely believe we need more heroines just like Lada, who are strong and don’t take crap from anyone! Bright We Burn is a beautiful mess, filled with goriness that completely amps up the level of amazingness to the story. As you know, if you’ve read this far, the story also portrays a gay romance that is done so well. It left me breathless. I think a reader who’s looking for something different, something intriguing, and something that will stay with you long after you finish reading will not regret jumping into these books.
