Blackjack: The Magical Morgan Horse
This was a magical story about a horse named Blackjack and a girl named Holly. In this story, Holly gets what she wanted, something she had wanted forever: A Morgan horse named Blackjack. One day she draws a picture of Blackjack, showing what he would look like if he came to life. Then one magical night, something special happens to that horse. The most interesting part to me was when something happens to the drawing of Blackjack. Holly reminded me of me because I also want a horse. Holly is a lively character. This book has very few sentences, but it is super exciting. This book kept me interested. I think the author was telling us not to stop wishing because some wishes may come true. The drawings in this book were colorful and artistic. I think this book should be read by level-two readers, seven year olds, and kids who like make-believe stories. I don’t think this book would make a nice series because it is basically based on one subject. I would recommend this book to other children under the age of seven because it was easy to read and more of a childish book. This was a great book even though I thought it was going to be boring because the cover didn’t look exciting, so I think you should go ahead and read this book and “not judge a book by its cover!”
